Linkhorn Biosphere Log for October 6, 2025
Linkhorn Biosphere Log for October 6, 2025
This morning, I went outside on the porch to check on the Linkhorn biosphere, which I got from the bay out here. It was still dark, unlike yesterday, and not very clear. I had left the lid on a bit loose to allow some oxygen in, but this morning, as I mentioned, the biosphere had turned dark and black. I’ll try to get a picture.
Yesterday, I took some samples and observed paramecia, some rotifers, and a bit of bacteria in there. I’ll try to post those observations to this log as well. Later, after I finish my household chores, I’ll post an update about the samples I took today.

Linkhorn Biosphere Log for October 6th, 2025 – Closing Entry
I checked the water again today, and it was about the same as yesterday. However, the black darkness I observed is obviously decomposition or something similar. It does have a strange smell, and I’m wondering if it’s because I left the lid off. Anyway, I’m just going to keep an eye on it. I did see paramecia and some rotifers, although there didn’t seem to be as many as yesterday. That could just be due to my sample—I had to look harder this time. Anyway, let’s see what happens tomorrow.
